Other Projects at the Univerity Teaching Center

Department Head Development

Recently placed under the UTC umbrella, this program currently consists of a day-long retreat for all academic unit heads, a series of workshops designed to encourage campus leadership, and a specific developmental plan for new department leaders.

Grant-Funded Projects

UTC also works with two other teaching centers to facilitate the tri-university Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR) Learning-Centered Education (LCE) grant. This program brings together faculty from The University of Arizona, Northern Arizona University, and Arizona State University to provide them with the knowledge and skills to make their own classes more learner-centered. Click here for a list of LCE past participants.

UTC administers a number of grant-based projects focused on enhancing and ensuring learner-centered education. The National Faculty Center (NFC) is one-year, federally-funded program bringing together teams of adminstrators, faculty, and students from across the United States. Each team is working on a project to promote and enhance learner-centered education at their own campus.
